In addition to the famous awards shows, like the Oscars, the Golden Globes, and the Screen Actors’ Guild Awards, the best and brightest in the movie industry can also receive high honors in the annual Cannes Film Festival. Previous winners of the Palma d’Or include Taxi Driver, The Pianist, Parasite, and Pulp Fiction, among many others.
Among the movies that will compete in this year's festival, which begins on May 16, are Asteroid City by Wes Anderson, Alice Rohrwacher's La Chimera, Wim Wenders’ Perfect Days, and Hirokazu Kore-eda's Monster, Vulture reports. Also premiering in the festival will be James Mangold's Indiana Jones and the Dial of the Destiny and Martin Scorsese's Killers of the Flower Moon.
