Priyanka Chopra Jonas‘ Purple Pebble Pictures has added veteran producer Anne Carey as president of film and TV.

In 2020, Variety exclusively announced that Purple Pebble Pictures, which has been behind projects including the Academy Award-nominated films “The White Tiger” and “To Kill a Tiger,” inked a first look TV deal with Amazon MGM Studios. The pact has since been extended and expanded to include both film and television. The company aims to expand its reach and creative output under the leadership of Carey, who has built a strong resume as an independent film and television producer with a long history of development-oriented producing, working frequently from literary material and collaborating with award-winning filmmakers.

“Anne is a force in the industry, known for her exceptional ability to craft stories that not only captivate but also connect with audiences on a profound level,” said Chopra Jonas in a statement. “Her dedication to storytelling and her unwavering support for unique and diverse voices perfectly reflect our mission at Purple Pebble Pictures. We are confident that with Anne’s partnership, we will continue to push boundaries and create impactful, meaningful content that truly speaks to viewers around the world.”

Carey joins Purple Pebble Pictures from Archer Gray, where she was a partner and served as president of production. During her tenure at the independent media and venture company, Carey most recently produced Marielle Heller’s “Nightbitch,” starring Amy Adams, which made its international premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival and will be released by Fox Searchlight later this year.

“I am very excited to partner with Priyanka and the team at Purple Pebble Pictures, where great storytelling is at the forefront of the company’s goals,” Carey said. “Fueled by our combined creative forces and unique experiences, we will bring thought provoking stories that will celebrate voices from all backgrounds and cultures to a global audience. And I think we’ll have some fun doing it.””

At Archer Gray, Carey also recently produced the Amazon drama series “Dead Ringers,” written by Alice Birch and starring Rachel Weisz; and “The Persian Version” written and directed by Maryam Keshavarz, which was distributed by Sony Pictures Classics after winning the audience award for U.S. dramatic competition at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival. Additional credits include “Lost Girls,” directed by Liz Garbus; “Can You Ever Forgive Me?” directed by Heller; “20th Century Women,” written and directed by Mike Mills; “The Diary of a Teenage Girl,” directed by Heller; and “Mr. Holmes,” directed by Bill Condon. Prior to Archer Gray, Carey’s producer credits include Tamara Jenkins’ “The Savages,” Greg Mottola’s “Adventureland” and Anton Corbijn’s “The American.”

Chopra Jonas, Carey and Purple Pebble Productions are represented by UTA.
